Bath time can be a difficult time of transition for many kids. By making bath time a fun and enjoyable experience for your little one, it can become a great addition to a calming bedtime routine and can also serve as a boredom buster for long days spent at home! We like to make bath paint and color our water for fun sensory experiences, but by having some really fun kids bath toys on hand, the bath is always ready to go and I can count on a few minutes of happiness from the kiddos!

These kids bath toys will make bath time fun for even the most reluctant bathers. Plus check out these ways you can make bath time extra fun!

15 Kids Bath Toys They Will Love!

Nuby Octopus Hoopla: Work on those motor skills while in the bath! This is perfect for little ones as they try to get the rings around the octopus!

Boon Building Bath Pipes Toy: The perfect STEM bath toy and a favorite in my house! There are endless opportunities for creativity and critical thinking. Little ones enjoy the cause and effect of pouring water in the pipes, and older kids love experimenting with different layouts.

3 Bees & Me Magnet Boats for Toddlers and Older Kids: This fun and educational set is perfect for boat lovers! If your kids enjoy linking together magnetic trains, they will love these boats for the tub.

Crayola Color Bath Dropz: Color your bath! We keep these on hand for different holidays. Green for a St. Patrick’s Day bath, orange for Halloween, etc.

Green Toys Ferry Boat with Mini Cars: The ramp on this floating ferry is perfect for toddlers who love to ‘take out and put back in’, an important developmental skill! (This is also a fun one to take to the beach).

Magnetic Light Up Fishing Bath Toy Set: Endless bath time entertainment, the fish light up when caught! My kids bathe together so this is a good toy for practicing turn-taking 😉

Spin N Sort Spout Pro with Spinning Suction Cup Gears: Another fun STEM toy that young and older kids alike will enjoy! If your kids like to have running water to play with in the bath, getting a toy like this with a spout is a good alternative to save on water.

Submarine Spray Station: Cause and effect, fine and gross motor  and FUN! The handhold sprayer is a really fun extra here.
ALEX Toys Rub a Dub Hoops for the Tub: Simple for the sports lover! Throwing a ball in a net never really gets old.

ALEX Toys Rub a Dub Draw in the Tub Crayons: Budding artists can go crazy using the bathtub as a giant canvas! They wash right off 😉

Munchkin Bath Tea and Cupcake Set: My little wannabe princess really loves a bathtub tea party (though I do have to remind her often not to actually drink the water).

ALEX Toys Rub a Dub Water Flutes and Water Drums: Grab both of these and have a little concert in the tub!

ALEX Toys Rub a Dub Jungle Waterfall: Maybe I like Alex Toys a little too much, but I really do love them. This is another great one for little builders and engineers!

ALEX Toys Rub a Dub Bubbalooka: Blow bubble snakes in the tub or the backyard! How fun?! (Best used for kids old enough not to drink the bubbles).

Do you have any of these in your tub? So you don’t need any of these toys to make bath time fun. Often I just through a couple of plastic cups and bowls in the tub and the kids have fun pouring and dumping. But, these kids bath toys are a really nice addition. Grab a few of these and keep them under the bathroom sink. Maybe add just one or two to each bath, rotating them throughout the week to keep is exciting!

Tips for Reluctant Bathers

Have kids who are hesitant to get in the tub? Here are a couple of tips for making bath time an enjoying bonding experience for you and your littles!

Read a book! Sit next to the tub and read your kids a really fun book, talk in funny voices to keep them engaged and show them the illustrations. Maybe read one book, wash hair, then read another book to get the ‘dirty work’ done amidst the fun.

Sing silly songs. Need inspiration? Check out this station on YouTube and memorize a couple to sing together.

Play pretend! Are you pirates going on an adventure for buried treasure? Astronauts floating out in space? Scuba divers studying exotic fish in Tahiti? Get creative and use your imagination, make up pirate names and talk in fun voices!

Clean the tub. I know this one seems crazy, but chores to us are often fun for kids! Get some empty spray bottles and fill them with soapy water and give the kids sponges or washcloths to clean the walls of the tub, trust me you will be surprised at how fun this is!

Paint the tub. Add some food coloring to shaving cream and add a paintbrush. Kids can paint the tub and it washes right off. Tip: if you join in the fun, they will be more likely to enjoy it, grab a paintbrush and have fun with them!
