Stop, Breathe & Think Kids is a mindfulness app that helps kids calm down and learn emotional literacy. It has greatly impacted sleep for my spirited boy.

Laying in the 3rd bed for the night with my 7 year old, I feel exhausted and run down.

It’s been almost 7 years of dreading bedtime. I’ve researched and read all about the importance of a good bedtime routine, and have agonized and nit-picked my own parenting style, feeling tremendous guilt over my lack of control during bedtime.

We’ve recently stumbled upon this app that leads children through calming stories and guides them through self-reflection and visualization, and it has dramatically improved my spirited boy’s propensities for excitement and restlessness at bedtime.

The Mindfulness App that Changed Bedtime for My Spirited Boy (and for me!)

While I like to limit screen time right before I ask my kids to close their eyes for the night, the Stop, Breathe & Think Kids has been such a game-changer, that I’ll gladly make this exception.

Often, my son listens to the app with his eyes closed and the night-shift lighting turned on, and doesn’t need to look at the screen to find value in the stories. And, during the day, he finds the simple videos on the screen calming and entertaining at the same time (the app has also made an appearance in our calm down area!).

It’s really calming. At night, it helps me go to sleep, because let’s say you are afraid that ghosts, or Frankenstein, vampires or any monsters are coming to your room, this app distracts you, and calms you. It’s been really helpful, and it even works in the daytime! -M., 7 years old
