Kids can learn so much from a book. Whenever I am trying to teach a new concept like accountability or responsibility, or emphasize a point, I turn to the library and grab a kids book. These books about persistence and problem solving and excellent for motivating kids who might feel like giving up.

These books about persistence and problem solving are perfect for kids who are learning about these concepts. Excellent teaching tools.

Books about Persistence and Problem Solving

Grit, persistence, critical thinking, problem solving…these are all buzzwords in parenting right now, and for good reason. These are really the skills that will carry kids through childhood, into adolescence, and into adulthood. And the truth is, it’s never too early to foster these traits.

For some kids, these might come naturally, but for others that might not be the case. A great way to demonstrate just how important these traits are, and how beneficial they can be, is by reading books.

Kids connect with characters in a book and they can imagine themselves in those situations. One of my absolute favorite books about not giving up, is The Girl Who Thought in Pictures, the story of Temple Grandin. Maybe it’s my past experience working with kids with Autism, or maybe it’s the joy I receive from watching my spirited boy embrace who he and and think out of the box, but I just adore the message in this book.

Check it out, along with some of these other great books about persistence and solving a problem.

The Girl Who Thought in Pictures: the Story of Dr. Temple Grandin (Amazing Scientists) Ada Twist, Scientist The Gruffalo Lemonade in Winter: A Book About Two Kids Counting Money Stuck The Day the Crayons Quit Snow Dog, Sand Dog Little Devils The Little Auto (Lois Lenski Books) What Do You Do With a Problem? What Do You Do With an Idea? The Most Magnificent Thing Rosie Revere, Engineer Beautiful Oops!

Kids of many ages will find a book here that they can connect and empathize with, and what a great way to reinforce the importance of never giving up and solving a problem!
